On March 11th President Biden submitted a letter to the leader of the World Plumbing Council, acknowledging World Plumbing Day. The plumbing industry is an essential organization to maintain water quality throughout the world. To recognize the importance of plumbers, the WPC established March 11th as World Plumbing Day in 2010. Since then, the IAMPO has promoted the holiday with educational materials to raise awareness. The Chairman of the WPC thanks the President, saying “We have long known the vital, life-saving role our industry plays in the world and are delighted to have our president also recognize this issue so widely”.
The support from the president provides a broader platform for the WPC to educate about the importance of their industry. IAMPO CEO Dave Viola also publicly thanked the President for his kind words. He recognized that their industry being taken for granted was a sign of quality work, but he was glad for his people to receive some acknowledgement. President Biden emphasized the importance of access to clean water and effective water treatment to communities nationwide. He continued, saying that he was glad to ensure the plumbing industry received the recognition it so rarely has. The investment in quality workers and service is essential to ensure the world continues to have clean and healthy water.
