American lawmakers call out the efforts of the EPA as too little too late. As PFAS’ hold on the U.S grows every day, the agency has taken several years to put together their final plan. Worse yet, the plan that they present at the end of 2024 will not be an immediate solution. Any actions taken by the organization will take several years to fully take effect, meaning that the nation will be almost half a decade behind the curve on this situation.
In addition to criticizing the EPA’s speed to combat PFAS, the lawmakers also call out the agency’s leniency with chemical manufacturers. The group is composed of individuals across party lines all working with a common interest to see the nation’s water quality improved. As is, the US is strangled by the forever chemicals, already being present in the blood stream of 97% of Americans.
