There is an increasing shortage of water supply all over the world, and today as many as 2.2 million U.S. residents do not have running water. As the demand for water increases, the supply is rapidly decreasing, which is creating a huge gap. This gap is driving motivation for many large scale water engineering projects, including a $3.5 billion dollar project led by the state of California. This project would recycle approximately two thirds of the water waste which enters the ocean.
DigDeep, a non profit company who helps provide struggling communities with water, is making large strides to help improve this issue. Many communities all over the world depend on water supply from rivers which are running dry. DigDeep is responsible for many initiatives to help aid these communities, including keeping a federal record of the number of U.S. citizens who do not have running water in their homes, and increasing the amount of funding to communities without water.
